The Drummer of Myriad Practices is you, me, and everyone, sharing the concepts and methods of protecting the spiritual environment that nurtures our hearts with everyone who wishes to live more freely.

We welcome everyone to join the Drummer of Myriad Practices, working together to build a “Spiritual Oasis in the City” and contribute to the construction of the new Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia centre, striving to purify hearts and the world!

The founder of Dharma Drum Mountain, Master Sheng Yen, once lamented: “The Dharma is so good, yet so few people know about it, and so many people misunderstand it.” Even though people generally seek ways to alleviate suffering and attain happiness, the Dharma, which serves as a beacon guiding us toward this goal, remains little known. We aspire to follow in the footsteps of Master Sheng Yen, to elevate our quality of life through the study and practice of the Dharma, and to dedicate ourselves to society with the spirit of emulating and acting like Guanyin Bodhisattva. Since we have greatly benefited from the Dharma, we naturally hope more people can benefit. Hence, Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia Centre has launched the [Drummer of Myriad Practices] programme, aiming to invite the public to support the construction of the new centre, thereby attracting a wider audience to learn and practice the Dharma.

The Spirit of the [Drummer of Myriad Practices]
The “Myriad Practices” in [Drummer of Myriad Practices] symbolises the spirit of the Bodhisattva of Myriad Practices, which means setting aside self-centeredness, not pre-setting positions for oneself, and contributing wholeheartedly whenever needed. On the other hand, the “Drummer” symbolises the person in the Lotus Sutra who “beats the Dharma drum,” spreading the sound of the Dharma far and wide. By learning, protecting, and propagating the Dharma at Dharma Drum Mountain, we let the sound of Dharma reverberate in all directions, enabling more people to learn and benefit from it. The [Drummer of Myriad Practices] not only supports the construction of the new centre materially but also uses this opportunity to learn and practise the Dharma, cultivating blessings and wisdom in daily life to nurture our minds.

Building the Spiritual Oasis
We believe that “inviting people to learn the Dharma, engaging hearts to practise the Dharma, and raising funds to support the continuation of Dharma” is our common aspiration. In line with the planned completion of the new Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia Centre in 2027, the [Drummer of Myriad Practices] programme will officially launch during the Wesak Day celebration on 22 May 2024. This initiative allows the public to become members of the [Drummer of Myriad Practices], contributing to the construction of the new centre and bringing people together through various activities such as group practices, courses, Dharma assemblies, and talks to learn Buddhism.

This project will run for three years until the new centre is completed. Those who wish to join the [Drummer of Myriad Practices] programme need only make a one-time donation of RM365. By “checking in,” you can participate in diverse activities like group practices and courses. Additionally, you may have the chance to participate in specific events and meet more Dharma friends, mutually supporting and encouraging each other on the path of learning, protecting, and propagating the Dharma.

We will present the periodic gratitude gifts to each [Drummer of Myriad Practices] to express gratitude for your support. We hope to build a new centre that is “Spiritual Oasis in the City,” offering a serene and peaceful place close to the urban hustle and bustle, allowing people to find peace and recharge. By supporting the new centre’s construction, we also form extraordinary Dharma connections for ourselves, our family and friends, and countless sentient beings in the future.
