Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Malaysia is the Malaysian center of DDM, which was founded by Master Sheng Yen in Taiwan.

Dharma Drum Mountain’s vision is to build a pure land on earth through the guidance of “Protecting the Spiritual Environment”, the leading principle of the overarching ethos “Four Kinds of Environmentalism”. The other principles teach about protecting the natural environment, the living environment and the social environment.

DDM Malaysia shares this vision and encourages the practice of Protecting the Spiritual Environment by offering opportunities to learn and practise Buddhism. Our activities conducted in English include weekly meditation group practice, beginner’s meditation class and 1-day Chan retreat. We also run activities led in Chinese, and these are meditation, dharma services (such as the Recitation of Buddha’s Name Group Practice, Great Compassion Repentance Dharma Service, the yearly Compassion Samadhi Water Repentance Dharma Assembly), dharma related courses and youth group.

Everyone is invited to practise Chan Buddhism with us. Practice will help you develop awareness, calmness and deepen your understanding of yourself, and learn to live more harmoniously with others and with nature. In light of this realisation, we hope to bring peace and happiness to the world.

Our centre is located in Petaling Jaya. It is equipped with 2 halls and facilities that support our programmes, including a library which houses a comprehensive collection of printed publications by DDM, as well as books from associated Buddhist organisations. You are welcome to visit and browse our collection during the library opening hours from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Borrowing is available to DDM Library members. You can also purchase recent publications from our bookstore.
